Cameras can do more for eyewear brands than just capture the new designs during photo shoots. When nice vintage cameras get into the hands of Persol designers, they serve them as an inspiration for an amazing eyewear collection.

Persol Reflex Edition recently released by Italy-based eyewear brand is sort of a tribute to analog cameras and black-and-white photography.

Three eyewear items: two sunglasses and one optical model bear close resemblance with front designs of old cameras. All the glasses are unisex and feature sleek design: ergonomic high hinge, ultra-light temples, acetate fronts and a signature arrow symbol that the brand came up with in the 1930s.

There is a variety of lens colors as well as frame colors to choose from. The frames feature black, green and havana hues, whereas lenses can be of brown, grey and green colors.

The essence of the collection is best reflected in the photo shoot of the campaign by a Swedish photographer Julia Hetta. Cameras and eye frames certainly have something in common – both are used to help you to capture the world around you.

The collection was launched at a cocktail party that was held in the heart of Milano. The organizers did their best to recreate the atmosphere of what it was like before digital cameras came around.

This is the eyewear design that creative, passionate-about-retro people and especially photographers are going to appreciate.
