 Monday is universally considered the hardest day of the week – but definitely not by those working for Oakley. Because today, Monday, April the 1st, is the time when the renowned sports eyewear manufacturer launches its new product created in cooperation with Mark Cavendish.

 If you follow the major cycling events you probably know that being the road cycling world champion, Mark Cavendish was the one entitled to wearing the rainbow jersey in 2012. He has set numerous records during Tour de France events and is eager to keep up his outstanding performance.

 The signature series RadarLock™ sport performance sunglass doesn’t only bear the name of the renowned sportsman – Mark Cavendish has contributed some ideas which have made this piece of sports eyewear truly unique. It’s not accidental that one pair of lenses (altogether there are two) features an unusual paint. This color is in fact called Cavendish Green and is meant to represent the green of the jersey that the leader in the points competition wears during Tour de France. Jade Iridium lenses which are also ideal to wear when the sun is exceptionally bright are sure to drive Mark Cavendish to set new and new records. The other pair is G40™ lenses for less extreme weather conditions.

 Oakley Switchlock™ Technology makes it possible to change the lenses easily. The glasses meet the strictest requirements that might be set by the keen cyclists and can be used in a variety of weather conditions. The sportsman wearing the sunglasses won’t be distracted by the blazing sunlight (Plutonite® lens material is responsible for 100% UV filtering) – just the ultimate comfort, the inspiring green shade – and that’s it. The Path shaped lenses provide venting for additional cooling effect.

 Mark Cavendish Signature Series RadarLock™ package come with a special Microclear™ bag for providing excellent storing conditions for the sunglasses and the spare lenses. For the actual launch today the package will also be complemented with a cap which is an irreplaceable cycling accessory. It protects the sportsman from wind, sun and rain. The cap from the Signature Series is decorated with a silver printed logo of Mark Cavendish and is made of cotton and polyester.
