A pair of sunglasses of legendary German quality that has absorbed the spirit of Berlin – this one can be found in collections by Mykita. Germany-based brand creates all its eyewear by hand and never fails to surprise its fans with mind-blowing designs. Mykita Spring-Summer 2013 sunglasses collection is no exception.
Instead of applying the current eyewear trends from the catwalks, Mykita designers worked out their own ones and then developed sunglasses in accordance with their own vision.
Two balloon-style designs are inspired by volumetric creations of the contemporary artists Erwin Wurm and Jeff Koons. These are not conventional circled shades – the frames of Egon and Emil seem to be filled with air – a very breezy accessory.

Another trend is sport-style sunglasses. Like many brands Mykita gets inspired by retro designs. But being unique in its own way, the brand combines the trends of two periods in one design concept. By borrowing round lenses from the 1930s and double bridge from the 1970s it has created spectacular designs Wynona andCyril.

It’s hard to describe Dash and Hunter models which represent cosmopolitan vanguard trend. The design is something between clubmasters and cat-eye shades. And still this doesn’t give you an idea of what they actually look like. Noble colors (just consider: Burgundy, Coral Red) in combination with golden detailing (bridges and temples) are irreplaceable for the summer trips.

We thought it was impossible to do something new to the aviators. Yet the resourcefulness of Mykita designers has refurbished the classy design beyond recognition. Atlas design features amazing smooth frame surface and summer colors like Lagoon Green and Storm Grey.

We’ve almost got to the end of our journey through Mykita sunglass trends. Here is the last one – a double arch bridge and rounded lenses of juicy colors that make the Orion model perhaps the most spectacular one in all the collection.

All the designs look very life-asserting. By putting on these glasses you are definitely putting on a smile on your face.
