The Cazal lookbook 2013 doesn’t just demonstrate the brands’s iconic eyewear – it reveals the essence of hip-hop culture. The photogropher – the renowned Armen Djerrahian who had cooperated with many hip-hop artists was a part of Parisian hip-hop movement in the beginning of 1980s. It’s hard to think of any other photographer who could deliver the Cazal spirit in photos so professionally.
There are not that many eyewear brands that send such a clear message. The founder of the brand – Cari Zalloni has never actually set himself a goal to make the whole world wear his creations. From the very start the brand had a very clear vision – this is the eyewear for those who can’t live without hip-hop.
New York was chosen as a setting for the photo shoot: graffiti walls, truly hip-hop outfits, Brooklyn views – just the perfect background. The Lookbook is about the iconic designs – the ones that were designed in the 1980s and featured such a level of perfection that they have been re-released regularly ever since.
Cazal 607 is represented here in its Crystal guise. This design bears the status of iconic from 1984! The idea behind it is to create a frame which will reflect the light in a specific way. For this aim the decision was made to employ 10-millimeters-strong acetate to be able to make all the facets.
Another catchy design in the lookbook is Cazal 858 (here white-pink-turquoise). Asymmetric frame and a combination of colors make this design the most wanted in the vintage line.
Cazal 616 sunglasses feature a genuinely manly design. P. Diddy owns a pair of these. The design is distinguished by a slot in a frame with golden detailing inside and matching golden embellishments on the temples.
This is clearly the eyewear that makes a statement. People normally don’t wear Cazal, if they don’t share the brand’s vision. If you adore Cazal sunglasses and ever see a person wearing this same brand – you can be quite sure you have a lot in common.
