It’s common practice for eyewear brands to get inspired by some interesting things to create new glasses. Like, for example, Persol draws inspiration from vintage cameras; the frame of Gucci Bamboo sunglasses is inspired by the trunks of bamboo trees. Alexander McQueen didn’t go far for the inspiration of their new sunglasses collection and adorned the new shades with detailing borrowed from McQueen signature Heroine handbags.
Heroine handbags enjoy recognition among many fashionistas including celebrities. Diane Kruger, Jessica Chastain, Amanda Seyfried and Miranda Kerr – each of them has her own nice Heroine bag. The bag’s design is distinguished by a curvy loop on the flap. In the recent McQueen ad campaign you can see these shades being demonstrated by the Brazilian model Raquel Zimmermann.

This same loop now adorns the temples of new sunglasses. The shades therefore feature double hinge. The classy oversized sunglasses can have either square or round lenses and come in a variety of muted colors – Havana, black, brown, blue, coral and gentle orange. Some items feature contrast combinations of black and white or coral and brown.
Apart from the Heroine sunglasses the spring/summer collection comprises 3 more designs. They are retro inspired and feature catchy detailing

Mod. AMQ 4220/S is designed like 1980s sunglasses and is decorated with little skulls. Mod. AMQ 4220/S is redolent of an earlier period (1970s) and features a combination of metal and acetate along with pilot shape.

Studded sunglasses are nothing new. But what is special about the way Alexander McQueen sunglasses are embellished is that the studs are scattered not only over the front part of the frame but also on the temples.
Having created just several models, Alexander McQueen designers offer numerous color solutions to blend into any style.
